Prepare a clear file for a tenancy hearing
A hearing file should make it easy to find the documents that support each point. The tribunal's own instructions remain controlling: confirm the hearing format, evidence process, and any required exchange with the official source for your case.
A practical checklist
- Write a short list of the issues the decision-maker is being asked to resolve, using the application and response as the starting point.
- Arrange the chronology and indexed copies so each event can be connected to a document or witness.
- Check the notice for hearing date, time, format, joining instructions, and any filing or exchange directions.
- Plan how you will access the hearing and request an accommodation through the official process if needed. Keep a copy of every submission.
